But even if some such records are made on the cricket field, even after more than 100 years, they have not been broken till today. In this series, we will tell you about those unbreakable records. Let’s start with the first test match in cricket history. The first Test in Test history took place between Australia and England. The match was played in Melbourne from March 15 to March 19. There were many cricket matches before this, but according to the ICC this was officially the first international match. At that time only Tests were played. Two such records were made in this match, which have not been broken even after 146 years.

    That match was the Test debut for all 22 players. In this there was an England player, James Southerton. He was 49 years and 119 days old on the start of the match. Till date, no player has made his Test debut at an older age than him. After him comes the number of Miran Bakhsh of Pakistan. He made his Test debut in 1955 at the age of 47 years and 284 days. He played two Test matches for England. In this, only 7 runs were scored along with taking 7 wickets. In 286 matches of first class cricket, Southerton scored 3159 runs and took 1682 wickets.

    Charles Bannerman’s record also unbreakable

    Another such record was made in this match, which has not been broken till date. Australia’s first innings was reduced to 245 runs. For the team, opener Charles Bannerman contributed 165 runs in this. He retired hurt after this. Charles scored 67.34 percent of Australia’s innings. Till date, no single batsman has scored a higher percentage of runs for the team in the entire innings. Australia’s Michael Slater definitely reached this record in 1999. Australia’s team was dismissed for 184 runs against England. Slater contributed 66.84 percent i.e. 123 runs in this.
