New Delhi: The Indian cricket team registered a world record 317-run win against Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI, while a similar atmosphere was witnessed in the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday. The Rohit Sharma-led team had scored 390 runs for the loss of 5 wickets against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram. In reply, the Sri Lankan team was bundled out for just 73 runs in 22 overs. On the other hand, in the Under-19 Women’s World Cup, England registered a massive 174-run victory, bowling Zimbabwe out for just 25 runs.

Batting first in the ongoing World Cup hosted by South Africa, the English team scored a mountain-like score of 199 runs for 4 wickets. For him, Captain Grace Scrivens scored 45, Niamh Holland scored 59 and Cheris Powell played a stormy inning of 45 runs. All of them thrashed the Zimbabwean bowlers and scored runs at will.

In response to the mammoth target, Zimbabwe’s team looked under pressure from the very beginning and none of its batsmen could cross double figures. Adelle Zimunhu, who scored 5 not out, was the best scorer when 4 batsmen were dismissed for zero. Captain Grace took 4 wickets for just 4 runs in 4 overs for England, while two maiden overs were also there. Apart from them, Sophia and Groves took 2-2 wickets, while one wicket was in the name of Ellie Anderson.

Zimbabwe’s entire innings was finished in 12 overs, giving England a massive 174-run victory. It is noteworthy that this Group-B match was played at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. England will take on Rwanda in their next match. Here too his victory is being considered sure.
