Nagpur: A four-match Test series will be played between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) from February 9. The first match will be held at Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. Earlier, the Indian team’s head coach Rahul Dravid said that in the Test series starting against Australia, the team’s focus will be on fielding, especially catching in the slips. India’s fielding in the slips has been a point of concern in the past and Dravid said the team is trying to improve on it. After the drop of Ajinkya Rahane, Team India is struggling in slip fielding. Many players of the team including Virat Kohli dropped catches on the Bangladesh tour.
Rahul Dravid said in the BCCI video shared on social media, ‘Everyone is fit and it is good to see the Test team back together. We have played a lot of white ball cricket in the last few months. Some of these players have come to play Tests in the white-ball format and it was good to see them getting extra practice in the nets.

Close catching will have to be taken care of as its role will be crucial in the series. There will be a lot of focus on slip fielding and catching. When you travel constantly, you don’t get much time to work on these things. We had some long net sessions. It is also good for the coaching staff because we play so much cricket that there is no time for it.
He said, ‘It was good to get time to practice this week. The coaching staff was preparing for this for a month. I am happy that everything is going well. After Nagpur, the second Test will be played in Delhi from February 17, the third in Dharamshala from March 1 and the fourth in Ahmedabad from March 9. Dravid said, ‘According to me it was a small camp. I like long camps in which work can be done on the game but still I am happy that I can get five-six days here.
