Opener Babar Azam completed his century off 60 balls. He reached his century in the 18th over by hitting a four off Naseem Shah. Babar got out after scoring 115 runs in the last over. His innings of 65 included 15 fours and 3 sixes. Babar made his intentions clear by hitting three fours in the second over of the innings. His score after the powerplay was 37 off 19 balls. This is Babar’s first century in the Pakistan Super League, playing the 76th match.
8th century in T20 cricket
This is Babar Azam’s 8th century in T20 cricket. He is also the Asian batsman with the most hundreds in this format. More centuries than him are now only in the name of Chris Gayle (22). Australia’s David Warner, Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger have also scored 8-8 centuries.
162 runs partnership for the first wicket
Babar Azam made a 162-run partnership for the first wicket with Saim Ayub for the first wicket. The innings of 74 runs came off the bat of 20-year-old Saim Ayub in just 34 balls. He hit 6 fours and 5 sixes. Peshawar scored 240 runs for 2 wickets in 20 overs. This is the biggest T20 score in PSL history.
