South Africa’s dreaded bowler will play in Dhoni’s team, CSK announced the replacement of Kyle Jameson

Chennai: Four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a major setback even before the start of IPL 2023. The team’s fast bowler Kyle Jameson underwent surgery after an injury. The reason for this was the news in February itself that he would not be able to play in the Indian Premier League. Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team had joined him for one crore rupees. Due to a back injury, Jameson has been away from the cricket field for almost 10 months.

The franchise announced the replacement

Chennai Super Kings has announced the replacement of Kyle Jameson. South African fast bowler Sisanda Magala has been roped in by the franchise. The 32-year-old fast bowler has played 5 ODIs and 4 T20Is for South Africa. Magala, the right-arm fast bowler, will join Chennai Super Kings at a base price of Rs 50 lakh.

Sunrisers were made champions

Sunrisers Eastern Cap won the CA20 title. Sisanda Magala was part of the same team. He had 14 wickets in 12 matches of the tournament. He was among the top-5 bowlers who took the most wickets in the tournament.

Sisanda Magala may not have played much international matches but he has good T20 experience. In 127 T20 matches, he has taken 136 wickets with an economy of 8 runs. He has also taken 5 wickets in the match twice and the best performance is 5 wickets for 20 runs. Apart from this, he has dismissed 181 batsmen in 122 List A matches. He also has 275 wickets in 94 first class matches.
