New Delhi: The 25-year-old Sarfaraz, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai, is scoring runs consistently in domestic cricket. Scored a century again on Tuesday in the Ranji Group B match against Delhi. This was his third century in this season. Sarfaraz is running in such dangerous form that it seems he just has to appear in a Ranji match and the runs will automatically come. His celebration after scoring a century in adverse conditions was worth watching. There was a bit of anger, a bit of aggression and a bit of pride in it.

This comes four days after he was again overlooked by the national selectors for the Indian squad selected for the first two of the four Tests against Australia at home.

Now former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has slammed the BCCI and the national selectors, saying that ignoring Sarfaraz Khan for the upcoming Test series against Australia is unfair and an insult to domestic cricket.

Prasad tweeted, “It is not only unfair to Sarfaraz Khan to not pick him in the Test team despite his brilliant performances in three consecutive domestic seasons, it is also an insult to domestic cricket as if the platform doesn’t matter.”

The former India bowling coach also said that there are many cricketers in the Indian team who weigh more than Sarfaraz. He said, ‘And he is fit to score runs. As far as body weight is concerned, there are many who weigh more than that. After the century, Sarfaraz Khan won hearts by saying that all he had in hand was to score runs. I will just go on scoring runs, selection is not in my hands. So I don’t think too much about that.
