Rohit Sharma returned after beating Corona, preparations started for T20 series

Birmingham: Indian captain Rohit Sharma has come out of the Quarantine after coming negative in the Covid-19 test. Rohit will be available for the T20 International series starting July 7. The 35-year-old Rohit is not part of the remaining fifth Test match of last year’s series against England (IND vs ENG) after he was confirmed to be infected with the corona virus on the second day of the practice match against Leicestershire.

A senior BCCI official said, ‘Yes, the report of Rohit’s investigation is negative. He is now out of quarantine as per medical protocol. He will not be part of the T20 warm-up match against Northamptonshire today as he needs rest and practice before the opening T20 International.

As per medical protocol, any player after coming out of Covid-19 Quarantine has to undergo a mandatory heart test to check lung capacity. The Indian team was desperate to play Rohit in the current Test against England but before the start of the match, he tested positive for COVID-19 thrice. In such a situation, the team had to enter the field under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah.

Rohit Sharma also batted in the nets after beating Corona. The Indian team is playing a test match against England at the Edgbaston ground in Birmingham. Rohit Sharma practiced on the nets of this ground. T20 series will be played between India and England from 7th July. Team India will play in it under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
