Rohit Sharma gave a big update on Iyer’s injury, will he be able to play ODI series against Australia?

Ahmedabad: Captain Rohit Sharma has given a big update on Shreyas Iyer, who was injured in the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Rohit Sharma said that Shreyas Iyer is not looking in the best shape right now as he has recovered from a lower back injury but did not specify when the middle-order batsman would return to competitive cricket. Iyer is doubtful for the IPL apart from the three-match ODI series against Australia starting March 17 in which he leads the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Iyer, who was included in the playing XI against Australia, could not get down to bat during the Indian innings. When Rohit was asked about Iyer’s fitness, he said, ‘What happened to him is unfortunate. He had to wait a day to bat and then when the day’s play was over, his back problem flared up again. He was sent to the hospital for a scan.

“I do not know the exact report of the scan, but it seems that he is not in a good condition. That is the reason why he is not here. The Indian captain said that he did not know how long it would take for Iyer to be match fit again.

Rohit said, ‘We don’t know how long it will take for him to recover or when he will make a comeback. He didn’t seem to be in the best of shape when he recovered from his injury. I hope he recovers soon and starts playing again.

The last test between India and Australia was a draw

The fourth Test match played between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad ended in a draw. In this match, the Australian team scored a score of 480 runs while batting first. In response, Team India counterattacked and scored 571 runs with the century innings of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. On the other hand, on the last day of the game, Australia declared their second innings by scoring 175 runs for 2 wickets, but after that the Indian team did not bat and the match was drawn.

However, despite this, Team India won the series 2-1 and with this confirmed their place in the final of the World Test Championship for the second time in a row.
