Sourav Ganguly persuaded Rohit Sharma
According to PTI reports, Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jai Shah persuaded Rohit Sharma to become the Test captain. Sourav Ganguly was the BCCI president at that time and Jai Shah was on the post of secretary like today. Rohit Sharma had to be persuaded to become the captain also because KL Rahul could not impress as captain on the tour of South Africa. After this Ganguly and Jai Shah turned towards Rohit.
Virat Kohli gave a blow to BCCI
Sourav Ganguly also recently revealed about Virat’s captaincy. Sourav Ganguly claimed that the BCCI was not ready for Virat Kohli to resign from the Test captaincy. Virat’s decision surprised the BCCI. After this, BCCI saw only Rohit Sharma as an option.
