Mumbai. MI Cape Town rising star Dewald Brewis has said that he idolises Mumbai Indians teammates Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav and has learned a lot from them.
Brewis scored a blistering 70 in the opening match of the ongoing SA20. Brewis has scored 133 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 117 in the South Africa T20 League.
On the eve of MI Cape Town’s match against Paarl Royals, Brewis said he is happy to represent two teams in the MI family. Mumbai Indians included him in their team last season.
“My favorite color is blue. So it’s wonderful to be a part of this family. Like Mumbai, Cape Town has great conditions,” Brewis was quoted as saying in the franchise’s release on Saturday.
Responding to a question, Brewis said, “I idolize a lot of players. For example, Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar and all the other great players, I love playing with all these legends.”
He also added, “I have learned a lot from IPL. It was a different feeling meeting these stars but my coaching team made me feel like I belong to this family and advised me not to get overwhelmed by these stars.” And I think that helped me a lot.”
