New Delhi: During the IPL season, fans become very passionate about their teams. This situation has become more visible in the last few years. Former Indian batsman has become its latest victim Robin Uthappawho has revealed how he was isolated at Kolkata Knight Riders in the last years.

Robin Uthappa is not playing in this IPL season as he has retired. Uthappa was a part of Chennai Super Kings till last season while one season before that was part of Rajasthan Royals, but the longest part of his career was spent in Kolkata Knight Riders, where he got considerable success.

However, his time in Kolkata was not always good. At least for the last two years, he felt lonely in this franchise. Uthappa himself has disclosed this. Actually, Uthappa had given his support to Chennai in the match of Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans a day before, on which suddenly the fans of Kolkata Knight Riders got angry and started making bad comments about Uthappa, on which Uthappa expressed his displeasure. Uthappa was lonely after Gambhir

Now a day later, Uthappa has put his feelings about Kolkata in front of everyone and told that he still loves the fans of this team but he himself started feeling lonely after some time in KKR. Uthappa tweeted that the first 4 years in Kolkata under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy were completely different from the later two years and its effect was visible on his performance as well.

So much has been said since last night & I thank you for sharing. However I have always maintained that my 1st 4 yrs in KKR when gautiled was completely diff from my last 2 years and that had a huge impact on my performances. I can assure you it had nothing to do with Captaincy!

Uthappa also made it clear that after Gambhir’s departure from Kolkata, his position in the team was not the same as before and he was isolated. After the departure of Gambhir, the command of Kolkata was taken over by Dinesh Karthik. Although Uthappa also said that it has nothing to do with the captaincy and he still loves KKR fans as much as he used to do earlier.

KKR was made the champion

Now the question is, did Uthappa feel this way because of KKR’s coaching staff or team management or owners? Only Uthappa knows this but it is clear that the former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman had a big contribution in the success of this franchise. When the team won the title in 2014, Uthappa was the batsman who won the Orange Cap in that season.
