Ravichandran Ashwin will leave Anil Kumble behind in this matter
In the history of Border Gavaskar Trophy, the record of taking the most wickets from India is in the name of former Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble. Kumble has taken 111 wickets in 20 Test matches played in BGT, bowling at an economy of 3.09. But this record of Kumble can now be shattered by Ashwin in the Ahmedabad Test.
Ashwin has so far taken 107 wickets in 21 matches at an economy of 2.74 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He is now just four wickets behind Kumble. If Anna (Ashwin) gets 5 wickets in the Ahmedabad Test, he will become India’s most successful bowler in terms of wickets in BGT history.
Nathan Lyon has taken the most wickets in Border Gavaskar
Australia cricket team’s veteran and veteran bowler Nathan Lyon has taken the highest 113 wickets in the history of Border Gavaskar Trophy so far. He is at the top of this list. Anil Kumble is right behind him with 111 wickets. Significantly, Ashwin remains at the third position with 107 wickets. In such a situation, if Ashwin stays in his rhythm against Australia, then he can become the leading wicket taker of Border Gavaskar by leaving Nathan Lyon.
