In Chandigarh, the home side rode on centuries from Manan Vohra (126) and Gaurav Puri (102 not out) and a half-century from Kunal Mahajan (83) to post 485 for eight at stumps. This gave Chandigarh a first innings lead over Railways who had scored 386 runs in the first innings. In Jammu, the Jammu and Kashmir team declared their first innings at 446 for six, riding on a century from Abhinav Puri (121 runs) and half-centuries from four batsmen. He then took four wickets in 37 overs to reduce Tripura to 76 at stumps, with Bikram Das scoring 39 and Subham Ghosh batting on 23.
