Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan is not just called the best bowler in T20 format. They know how to hook big fish. He did something similar in the first qualifier of the Pakistan Super League. Clean bowled Multan Sultan’s captain and current season’s top scorer Mohammad Rizwan. Before Rizwan, who was frozen at the crease, could take shots freely, Rashid switched off his lights. Rashid took only one victim and made the biggest one.
Actually, in the first qualifier of Pakistan Super League, there was a clash between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. Batting first after winning the toss, Multan posted 160 runs on the scoreboard. Captain Mohammad Hafeez along with Usman Khan got the team off to a solid start and added 53 runs. Rizwan stood firm after the dismissal of Usman (29 off 28 balls), the fastest centurion in the history of the tournament. During this, Mohammad Rizwan became the only player to score 500+ runs in three seasons of the tournament.
Rashid Khan made Mohammad Rizwan walk on the last ball of the 13th. It was a wonderful ball. Rashid had understood that Rizwan was going to bat on the leg side, in such a situation he bowled a wrong one and Rizwan got trapped in his net. The innings of 33 runs in 29 balls came to an end. Multan Sultans, under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan, have been one of the most impressive teams in the PSL over the years. In 2021, Sultans made Rizwan their captain and won the first PSL title. The next year the team reached the finals.
After scoring 500 runs in PSL Season-6 and 546 runs last year, Rizwan has scored 516 runs so far this season. The right-handed batsman has also scored his maiden PSL century this season. He is also the highest run scorer in the current edition.
