Lahore: In the first qualifier of the Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultan’s team defeated Lahore Qalandars by 84 runs. The team of Multan Sultans, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, dominated Lahore in every way. In the match, Kieron Pollard batted stormy for the team, scoring 57 runs in just 34 balls. During this, he also hit 1 four and 6 sixes. With this strong batting of Pollard, Multan scored 160 runs.

During this, seeing the Lahore bowler and himself being beaten up, captain Shaheen Afridi was furious and went to confront Pollard. Actually this whole incident happened in the last over of the first innings. Pollard was batting at the crease. In the last over, Pollard’s effort was to collect maximum runs. Captain Shaheen himself was handling the responsibility of the last over.

Where was Pollard going to stop though? He hit a humming six off the second and third balls. On the fourth ball, Shaheen Afridi almost trapped Pollard in his net but his catch was dropped. Pollard got a lifeline and hit the last ball for a six.

Afridi, who came to bowl the last over, was shocked to see his beating and went on to confront Pollard in anger. Shaheen could not control himself and started saying something to Pollard after being shocked and upset. Where was Pollard also going to remain silent. He also retaliated and told Shaheen. However, before the matter escalated further, the players on the field pacified it by defending the middle.

For Shaheen Afridi, this match was no less than a nightmare. He spent 47 runs in his four-over spell without taking any wicket.

Lahore gets another chance after defeat

After the defeat in the first qualifier of the league, Lahore Qalandars have one more chance to take on Multan in the final. Lahore Qalandars will now face the winner of their respective matches against Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator. The Eliminator match will be played on March 16.

Lahore was reduced to 76 runs in the qualifiers

In the qualifier match against Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars’ team was reduced to just 76 runs. Batting first in the match, Multan Sultan’s team scored 160 runs with the explosive half-century innings of Kieron Pollard. After this, the bowlers of Multan showed their mettle and took their team to the final by winning by 84 runs.
