Mohali: The house was of Punjab Kings but the party was of Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow, which faced defeat at home in IPL 2023 against Punjab, settled the scores with Sood. Lucknow defeated Punjab by 56 runs on Mohali’s pitch which proved to be the graveyard of bowlers. On the basis of the storm of Marcus Stoinis and Kyle Meyers, Lucknow scored 257 runs, in response to which Punjab could score only 201 runs.
On Friday evening at the PCA Stadium, Lucknow first scored the biggest score of this season leaving behind the score of 235 runs by Chennai Super Kings. KL Rahul missed an easy catch on this ball of fast bowler Gurnoor Brar, who was making his debut. Rahul got out in no time but Kyle Meyers made it rain. The explosive opener scored 54 runs scoring his fourth half-century. Both the openers fell prey to Kagiso Rabada in the powerplay.
In the next 4 overs, the Lucknow batsmen batted even more and by the 10th over, the team’s score was 128 runs. There was a great partnership between Marcus Stoinis and Ayush Badoni. There was a partnership of 89 runs in just 47 balls between the two. When this storm stopped, Nicholas Pooran started batting indiscriminately with Stoinis.
Stoinis-Puran also rained
During this, Stoinis scored a half-century in 31 balls and added 76 runs in just 30 balls with Pooran. Stoinis was dismissed in the 19th over and Puran was dismissed before the half-century in the 20th over, but both their innings took Lucknow to 257 runs. This is the biggest score of this season.
