PAK vs NZ: Had a century in 21 matches, now hit second consecutive century, washed Pakistan home

Rawalpindi: The pain of the Pakistan cricket team is not taking its name. For the last one year, whatever team is visiting Pakistan, they are beating it. It has become difficult for the team to win at the moment. Even if the team is somehow being successful, some player or the other is tearing them apart. Last year, England batsman Harry Brook created havoc. Now Darryl Mitchell of New Zealand is doing bad to him.

Mitchell, who scored three consecutive Test centuries in England last year, now showed his colors in ODIs as well. Mitchell scored a century while playing an excellent innings in the second ODI against Pakistan. Coming at number three, the New Zealand batsman thrashed the Pakistani bowlers fiercely and scored a century in the second consecutive match.

Pakistan battered by Mitchell’s attack

During the second ODI in Rawalpindi, Mitchell shared a strong partnership of 183 runs for the third wicket with captain Tom Latham. Mitchell completed his third ODI century during this period. Mitchell played an inning of 129 runs in 119 balls before Delhi was dismissed in the 46th over. Mitchell completed his century but Latham missed by just 2 runs. New Zealand, however, scored 336 runs losing 5 wickets.

Mitchell, who failed in the T20 series against Pakistan, has equalized it in the ODI series. Before this series, Mitchell had only one century in 21 matches in ODI cricket. Now, as soon as he reached Pakistan, Mitchell’s bat was such that he scored two centuries in two consecutive matches. Mitchell scored an inning of 113 runs in the first match of the series played in Rawalpindi itself.

Talking about the match, Babar Azam’s Pakistani team, which entered the match without its star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, was thrashed fiercely. Especially for him, young fast bowler Ihsanullah, who was debuting, got 60 runs in 8 overs, while experienced pacer Haris Rauf also got 78 runs. However, it was Rauf who got the maximum 4 wickets for the team.
