Auckland. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Monday said that the New Zealand cricket team will tour Pakistan twice for the next season. The New Zealand team will travel to Pakistan from December 2022 to January 2023 to play two Tests and three ODIs. After this, in April 2023, the Kiwi team will tour Pakistan to play five ODIs and five T20s. The team had refused to play in Pakistan before the 2021 T20 World Cup.
In a statement on Monday, NZC said it was agreed following a meeting of the Cricket Board in Dubai last month that the Blackcaps would tour Pakistan in December 2022 and January 2023 to play two WTC Tests and three ICC Super League ODIs. The first visit will be part of the Future Tours Program (FTP).
NZC chief executive David White was quoted as saying by New Zealand Cricket, “Our respective presidents, Rameez Raja and Martin Snedden, discussed the tour at a meeting in Dubai, where the decision was taken with mutual consent of both sides.
PCB Chairman Rameez Raja welcomed the visit. “I am pleased with the results of our discussions and negotiations at the meeting, and thank Martin Snedden and his board for their understanding and support,” he said.
Now confirming the tour and match details, the PCB and NZC will work closely to finalize the dates for the series. Which can be announced soon.
