Apart from training at various state-of-the-art centres, young Indian players from Mumbai Indians will get a chance to play at least 10 T20 matches against top club teams from multiple counties.
An IPL source told PTI on the condition of anonymity, “There are few players like NT Tilak Verma, Kumar Karthikeya, Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen who will get the experience of playing against a team of top T20 club in tough conditions. .”
“Arjun Tendulkar who is in the UK and young South African cricketer Dewald Brevis are also likely to join the team,” he added.
Mumbai Indians’ support staff, headed by head coach Mahela Jayawardene, will also be present in England to monitor the progress of the Indian players.
The source indicated, “Look, India’s home season is over. Top players like captain Rohit Sharma, top pacer Jasprit Bumrah are with the national team, our international stars are also busy with their commitments.
“The players that need attention are our young core players as they will not get any match practice for three-and-a-half months before the start of the next domestic season,” he said.
