Nagpur: KL Rahul, the star player of the Indian cricket team, has joined the training camp of Team India just a few days after his marriage. Last month on January 23, KL Rahul married Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty in Mumbai. Although it was believed that Rahul could go for a honeymoon with his wife Athiya after taking a break from Team India, but this did not happen and Rahul decided to join Team India keeping in mind the Border-Gavaskar Test series.

KL Rahul, who preferred national duty before his personal life, is being praised a lot. Let us tell you that the series of four Test matches between India and Australia is starting from February 9 in Nagpur. For this, all the players selected in the team have started training after reaching Nagpur.

Rahul can be seen in the role of wicketkeeper

KL Rahul can be seen in the double role of wicketkeeper in the Test series between India and Australia. Ishaan Kishan and KS Bharat have been included in Team India as wicketkeepers, but if either of these two is included in the playing eleven, then Team India may have less options.

At the same time, it is almost decided in the team that Shubman Gill can start the innings with Rohit Sharma. In such a situation, KL Rahul may have to bat at number five or six in the middle order. On the other hand, if Shubman Gill is kept out of the playing XI, then Rahul will also open with Rohit. In such a situation, if he is seen in the role of wicketkeeping, then captain Rohit Sharma will get an additional option.

Thus, there is a possibility that either Ishaan or KS Bharat may not find a place in the first Test and Rahul will take the responsibility behind the wicket. This is the reason why he is sweating profusely in the training session in Nagpur.

Questions have been raised on Rahul’s recent form

Not that KL Rahul will definitely get a place in the playing XI. Because his recent form was very bad. Especially in limited overs, he was struggling a lot to score runs. He was unable to score runs on the tour of Bangladesh while his condition looked thin in the home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand but the team management continued to retain him in the playing XI. Although the Test series against Australia may be a consideration in Rahul’s name.
