Colombo (Hindustan Reporter) Indian batsman KL Rahul has praised left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Thanks to Kuldeep’s sensational performance, the Indian team has secured its place in the final of Asia Cup 2023.
The experienced spinner took five wickets in the ODI against Pakistan and then played a key role in India’s victory by taking four wickets against Sri Lanka.
“Kuldeep is bowling really well,” Rahul said in the press conference after the match against Sri Lanka. I enjoy watching him bowl when I am keeping wickets. The way he is bowling is fantastic. He has developed new tricks and you can see it is paying off. His pace and execution have been exceptional.”
On a surface that was more suited to spinners, Sri Lankan youngster Dunith Vellalagage took his first five-wicket haul as he dismantled the Indian batting set-up.
Rahul insisted that the Indian batsmen will try to attack the youngster the next time they come up against him.
Rahul further said, “He was absolutely right. He took five wickets. He did a good job for his team. As long as I was playing, he looked to be the most dangerous bowler in the Sri Lankan attack. Maybe next time we play we’ll try to chase that.”
Talking about the match, the Sri Lankan team restricted India to 213 runs, however after this the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly and restricted the Sri Lankan team to only 172 runs and stopped Sri Lanka’s unbeaten streak of 13 ODIs. Gave.
