In the 2022 auction, Punjab Kings showed faith in Jitesh Sharma. The team bought him for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. After sitting on the bench in the first two matches, he got a chance to debut against Chennai Super Kings. In the very first match, Jitesh scored 26 runs in 17 balls with the help of 3 sixes. He hit these sixes off Moin Ali, Ravindra Jadeja and Mukesh Chaudhary. In the next match, he scored 23 runs in 11 balls and then scored 30 runs in 15 balls against Mumbai.
Now in the T20 series against Sri Lanka, Jitesh Sharma has got a place in Team India in place of injured Sanju Samson. Sanju was injured in the first match of the series in Mumbai. In the matches to be held in Pune and then Rajkot, Jitesh will be part of the team in his place.

Jitesh Sharma’s talent was first recognized by Neil de Coast, the coach of Mineal Clarke. When Jitesh was 14 years old, Neel was traveling from district to district looking for new players for the Vidarbha Cricket Association. At that time he had selected Jitesh.
Jitesh, 29, was born in Amravati, Maharashtra. In February 2014, he got a chance to play his first match for Vidarbha against Rajasthan. He made his first class debut in 2015. After 2017, he has not got a chance to play first class match. But he is Vidarbha’s premier batsman in List A and T20. In 76 T20 matches, Jitesh has 1787 runs at a strike rate of 148. At the same time, he has scored 1350 runs in 43 List A innings.
