Rishabh Pant’s ligament is torn like Ravindra Jadeja
Pant had suffered injuries in a car accident on 30 December. The BCCI decided to fly Pant to Mumbai by air ambulance as he was not in a position to fly by any commercial airline. Now he has been suddenly airlifted to Mumbai as Pant’s condition is much better. Another thing is coming out in this case that his ligament is torn in the same way as Ravindra Jadeja’s. Jadeja was injured during the Asia Cup. He also had a ligament injury.
The board will make every effort to aid and expedite the recovery process of Rishabh and provide him all possible support during this period.
Jai Shah, BCCI Secretary
Ravindra Jadeja’s surgery was done in September last year. Now he is ready to return to cricket. If the same is to be believed for Pant, then he is out of cricket for at least 6 months. In this regard, a BCCI official says that doctors say that Pant’s ligament is torn just like Jadeja. He may be out of cricket for an indefinite period.
Medical team will keep an eye on Rishabh Pant
According to Shah, “Rishabh Pant will be admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute and will be treated under the direct supervision of Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, Head of the Center for Sports Medicine and Director of Arthroscopy and Shoulder Service at the hospital.” He said, ‘Rishabh will undergo surgery for a ligament injury and will undergo post-procedures. The BCCI medical team will take care of him during his recovery and rehab.
Pant, 25, had a narrow escape from the car accident when he was going from Delhi to his hometown Roorkee but lost control on National Highway 58 and his car hit the divider. Pant had bruises on his forehead, serious back injuries as well as injuries to his knee and ankle. Most of the injuries were minor but the ankle and knee injuries are worrying. Being a centrally contracted cricketer from the BCCI, his injury treatment is the prerogative of the board.
