Jaddu turned out to be unlucky, Dhoni’s cleverness went in vain, two batsmen were saved from getting out on the same ball

Kolkata:Between the age of 41 and the news of retirement, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is winning everyone’s heart in the 16th season of IPL. Old glimpses are visible in batting. Well the same agility remains intact in wicketkeeping. Despite retiring from international cricket, Mahi is fitter than any active cricketer. Stomping with lightning speed is still his favorite pastime. However, in the midst of all this, something was seen against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday night, which is never expected from Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni.

    two lives on one ball

Batting first against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Chennai set a target of 236 runs. In response, the hosts got off to a poor start. When Ravindra Jadeja came to bowl for the first time in the ninth over of the innings, there was a disturbance on the pitch. There was a blunder between Jason Roy and Rinku Singh while trying to steal the last ball. Both could have been run out, but first Jadeja and then Dhoni missed.

    Jadeja’s mistake first
Actually, the ninth over of the innings was going on. The bowling command was in the hands of spinner Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja bowled a fuller ball which was hit straight to the bowler by Jason Roy. The ball came into Jadeja’s hand after hitting the ball. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh standing at the non-striker end had left his crease. Jadeja had already realized this, so as soon as he caught the ball, without looking at the wicket, he hit the ball behind, which also hit the stumps, but the bails did not fall. It was a close affair, Rinku could have been out too.

    Mistake from Dhoni too

As the ball tracked back, Jason Roy tried to steal a quick single on the over throw. But Rinku did not show interest. Roy was well ahead, so Jadeja ran back to the ball and threw at the strike end, where Dhoni was ready, but he failed to collect the ball cleanly and the result was Jason Roy’s run out. Child saved. Later, both Rinku and Jason Roy scored half-centuries, but could not get their team to victory. In response to 235 runs, Kolkata fell behind by 49 runs. With this win, Chennai Super Kings reached the top of the points table.
