Sai Sudarshan played stormy innings in IPL-2023. (IPL 2023)
Ahmedabad: The kind of batting that Shubman Gill did in Qualifier-2 had increased the beats of Chennai Super Kings. Gill is in his best form till now. This season, three centuries had come out of his bat before the final. That’s why Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni must have made preparations for Gill. It seemed the way Gill was trapped in the second over, but Sai Sudarshan proved to be a player outside the syllabus for Chennai.
Gill was trapped by Chennai in the second over but Deepak Chahar dropped his catch. Then Gill became the victim of an excellent stumping done by Dhoni on the ball of Ravindra Jadeja. Here it seemed that the biggest thorn in the way of Chennai has been removed and it will stop Gujarat on a low score. But Sudarshan did not let this happen.

Slow start, then created a storm
Sudarshan had also started very slowly. He was giving strike to Wriddhiman Saha by taking one or two runs. He scored six runs in nine balls. He hit his first four on his 14th ball. Then gradually Sudarshan started showing his game and took a lot of information about the bowlers of Chennai. He attacked Mahish Teekshana in the 15th over and hit two brilliant sixes. He completed his half-century in 33 balls.
From here Sudarshan again became more aggressive. After this, he scored 44 runs in the next 14 balls. Dhoni was also surprised to see the stormy avatar he showed from here. Dhoni could not understand how to stop him. He did not leave even the star bowlers of this season of Chennai like Tushar Deshpande, Mathisa Patirna.

missed a century
The way Sudarshan was batting, it seemed that he would score a century in the final. He was heading towards his first century in IPL but his innings came to an end on the ball of Patirna. Patirna bowled a yorker which hit Sudarshan’s pad. Chennai appealed which was accepted by the umpire. Sudarshan took the review but it was not successful. With this, Sudarshan missed his century. He scored an inning of 96 runs in 47 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes.
On the basis of his innings, Gujarat scored a huge score. Gujarat scored 214 runs losing four wickets. This is the biggest score made by any team in the IPL final.
