New Delhi: Just two matches are awaited and the champion of IPL 2023 will be decided. Half of the picture has become clear between which two teams will compete for the title. Four-time champion Chennai Super Kings has reached the final. Now the question is which team they will face. Although it will be decided on May 26, but Chennai’s bowling coach Dwayne Bravo has openly told which team he would not like to face.
Chennai, captained by MS Dhoni, entered the final by defeating defending champions Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier of IPL 2023. This record of Chennai winning the title in 2021 is the 10th final. Who will he face, it will be decided in the second qualifier match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat.
Whom does the CSK coach want to face in the final?
A clash between two of the most successful teams and toughest rivals of the IPL is what most of the fans wish for. There will hardly be anything better than this final in terms of TRP and viewership, but Chennai coach Bravo does not seem very excited about it. Rather they are scared about it. Bravo disclosed this in an interview after Chennai’s victory over Gujarat.
In the Star Sports interview, when Bravo was asked which team he would like to see in the final, Bravo clearly said that he is very scared of Mumbai Indians. Bravo told his mind that he would not like to face Mumbai and his friend Kieron Pollard in Mumbai also knows this. However, Bravo also made it clear that his team is ready to face anyone.
How is the record of Mumbai-Chennai in the final?
The reason for Bravo’s fear is not wrong either. Chennai has made it to the finals the maximum number of times and apart from becoming the champion four times, it has got the maximum number of defeats in the finals only from Mumbai. Both the teams have clashed in the finals 4 times, except in 2010, Chennai had to face defeat three times. In 2013, 2015 and 2019, Mumbai defeated Chennai in the final.
