Bangalore. India cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy on Thursday started a new inning in her life by marrying Karnataka first-class cricketer Arjun Hoysala. Veda decided to tie the knot on the birth anniversary of her mother Cheluvamba Devi (67), who passed away in 2021 due to Covid-related complications. He lost his sister Vatsala Sivakumar (42) to the pandemic two weeks later.
Announcing her wedding on Instagram, the veteran of 48 ODIs and 76 T20 Internationals said, “This is Amma (mother) for you.” Your birthday will always be special.
Ved also remembered his late sister saying, Love you akka (sister).
Veda and Arjun completed their wedding rituals in a simple ceremony at the sub-registrar’s office in Bengaluru.
The couple, dressed in simple attire, signed the documents and announced their marriage in the presence of a few family members and close friends.
She also wrote to her partner Arjun, Meri jaan ab teri hui, dhyaan rakhana (My love now I am yours, take care of me).
The wedding pictures uploaded by Veda on her Instagram handle have gone viral on social media.
