Will Surya and Ishaan get a chance?
Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan, running in their excellent form, did not get a chance in the first two ODIs against Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav is the number one T20 batsman, while Ishan Kishan, on the other hand, created a sensation by scoring a double century in his last ODI on Bangladesh tour. Despite this both of them had to sit out.
On the other hand, regarding Suryakumar and Ishaan, the batting coach has also clearly said that they will have to wait for their turn because those who are getting a chance in the playing XI, their performance is also not bad. In such a situation, it seems from the statement of the batting coach that Surya and Ishaan hardly get a chance in the third ODI.
Rohit-Gil will start the innings
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are opening the innings in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Gill has consistently impressed with his batting. In such a situation, there is no possibility of Ishaan Kishan being included in the team as an opener in his place. Apart from this, KL Rahul has strengthened his claim by playing a half-century in the second ODI along with wicketkeeping in the middle order. Apart from this, if Rahul is not available in the home series against New Zealand, then captain Rohit Sharma would like him to get a chance in the last ODI against Sri Lanka.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli comes to bat at number three in the team. In such a situation, there is no other option for Surya except to just wait. Because even in the middle order all the players are playing brilliantly.
Possible playing XI for the third ODI against Sri Lanka- Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (Wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik.
