New Delhi: Whenever there is talk of cricket matches between India and Pakistan, there is always some spicy, strange or bigoted talk from former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Now this year, which is the ODI World Cup, Shoaib will continue to speak something or the other till the next tournament and he has already started it. Describing Pakistan as one of the best teams, Shoaib has said that nothing will be better than defeating India in India.
ODI World Cup is to be held in India in October-November this year. The deadlock was going on for the last several months regarding this tournament. After the Indian team did not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, Pakistan also threatened not to come to India for the World Cup. Now though this matter has been resolved and the Pakistani team will come to India.
Pakistan beat India in India
Obviously now there will be talk about the most liked match of the World Cup between the two teams. Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar has also started it. Shoaib recently expressed his opinion about the World Cup match during a program in Pakistan.
Citing the ongoing impasse between the two countries, the Pakistani pacer said that under any circumstances the Pakistani team should go to India and defeat Team India there in the World Cup. He said that the Pakistani team must go to India so that later no one would say that the Pakistani team did not reach.
Pakistan can win the world cup
Not only this, Shoaib declared Pakistan as one of the strongest teams in white ball cricket and claimed that Babar Azam’s team can win the World Cup. Shoaib said that the Pakistani team can win the World Cup in the final to be held in Ahmedabad.
Now whether Shoaib Akhtar’s words will prove to be true or not, it will be known only during October-November. By the way, till date Pakistan has not defeated India even once in the ODI World Cup. India and Pakistan are expected to compete at the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15.
