India suffered defeat in the final of the World Test Championship for the second time in a row (PC: AFP)
New Delhi.Australia broke India’s dream. Australia defeated India by 209 runs in the final of the World Test Championship. India got defeated for the second consecutive time in the final. The Australian team was overwhelmed everywhere in the final. Be it batting, bowling or fielding, India bowed down at all the three places. In terms of bowling and batting, Team India was beaten even more badly. After the defeat, questions have also been raised on India’s preparations. Not only this, a debate has also started regarding IPL.
The biggest reason for India’s defeat is being told to IPL and somewhere IPL also became the reason for Team India’s defeat. In fact, all the players of the Australian team had landed on the fresh ground, while the Indian team had gone straight to play the final of the Test Championship after playing IPL for 2 months. Except Cheteshwar Pujara, all other members of the Indian squad were part of IPL 2023.

Why India lost because of IPL
- The biggest reason for India’s defeat was its fatigue. Except Pujara, all the players were busy in IPL for almost 2 months. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj everyone had given their full strength in IPL. Meanwhile, no one got rest and as soon as the tournament was over, the players reached London directly.
#TeamIndia fought hard but it was Australia who won the match.
Congratulations to Australia on winning the #WTC23 Final.

- Jadeja, Shami, Gill, Rahane had reached London with more delay due to IPL. Jadeja and Rahane played for Chennai Super Kings and Shami and Gill for Gujarat Titans in the IPL final, which was played on 29 May on a reserve day due to rain. In such a situation, the players were badly tired as well. Shami had left for England on 1st June and then on 7th June he went on the field to play the final. The fatigue of IPL was clearly visible on the faces of the players.

- Not being able to play a tour match before the final also cost India dearly. The final was barely two weeks away, when Indian players started arriving in England. While head coach Rahul Dravid said that at least three weeks was the ideal time in England and the 2 tour matches were perfect for preparation, but the team did not get a chance to play the tour match before the final.

- One of the reasons for India’s defeat is coming straight from white to red ball. In fact, for about 2 months in the IPL, the bowlers bowled with the white ball. The bowlers had to bowl a spell of 4 overs in a match, while immediately after that the bowlers suddenly got a red ball in their hands and that too in different conditions, where they had to bowl tirelessly and non-stop. The Australian batsmen took advantage of the fatigue of the Indian bowlers and scored a lot of runs. The result of this was that Australia had scored 469 runs in the first innings and here the team lost. The bowlers were in dire need of practice before coming from white to red ball. In the long spell, the bowlers deviated from their line and length as well.
