IND vs AUS: Bowlers could not take wickets, batsmen failed, the last encounter with Australia in Mumbai is scary for Team India

Mumbai: The ODI series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) will begin at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hardik Pandya will captain Team India in this first match of the 3-match series. Rohit Sharma will not play this match due to family reasons. India had earlier defeated Australia in the Test series but Team India would not have been able to forget the match that took place on this ground 3 years ago.

    Got defeated by 10 wickets

In January 2020, Australia’s team was on a tour of India. The first match of the 3-match series was played in Mumbai itself. Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian team scored 255 runs. Shikhar Dhawan scored the highest 74 while KL Rahul scored 47 while batting at number three. Rishabh Pant contributed 28 and Ravindra Jadeja contributed 25 runs. Stark took three wickets for Australia while Cummins and Kane Richardson took 2-2 wickets.

Warner and Finch hit a century

Australia’s team achieved the target by scoring 258 runs without losing a wicket in the 38th over. Openers David Warner and Aaron Finch scored centuries. Warner scored 128 off 112 balls while Finch scored 110 off 114 balls. Bumrah, Shami, Shardul, Kuldeep and Jadeja bowled for India, but could not take a single wicket.

    Biggest partnership against India

The 258 runs was the highest partnership against India in ODIs. This was the first time since 2005, when Team India lost the ODI match by 10 wickets. Along with this, it was the second highest target in ODI history, which was achieved without losing a wicket.

Along with this, Team India has not won in this format after 2011 at Wankhede Stadium. In 2015, the team lost against South Africa by 214 runs. In 2017, New Zealand defeated by 6 wickets. Then in 2020, Australia was defeated.
