IND v PAK U19 Asia Cup: Ahmed Khan hits a boundary off the last ball for Pakistan’s thrilling win against India

Pakistan defeated India by 2 wickets in the last ball of the Under-19 Asia Cup on Saturday. For Pakistan, Mohammad Shahzad scored 81 runs at number three while Ahmed Khan played an unbeaten innings of 29 runs.

Ahmed hit a boundary off Ravi Kumar on the last ball to take Pakistan to the target of 238 runs. Earlier, Pakistan’s Under-19 bowlers bundled out India for 237 runs. Medium pacer Zeeshan Jamir took 5 wickets for 60 runs.

India lost the wickets of opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi (0), S Rashid (6) and captain Yash Dhul (0) early on. Jamir took these three wickets and reduced India’s score to 14 runs for three wickets. Nishant Sindhu (8) was sent to the pavilion by Awais Ali. Harnoor scored 46 runs in 59 balls which included six fours. When he seemed to be moving towards a big score, then Ali dismissed him in the 19th over.

Wicketkeeper Aaradhya Yadav scored 50 runs in 83 balls which included three fours. Kaushal Tambe made 32 and Rajvardhan scored 33 runs in 20 balls to take India past 230 runs.

In reply to a target of 238 runs for victory, Pakistan lost the wicket of opener Abdul Wahid (0) early. After this, Maaz Sadaqat (29) and Shahzad (81) put on 64 runs. Left-arm medium pacer Raj Bawa dismissed Sadaqat. He took four wickets for 56 runs.

Bawa also sent Hasibullah (3) to the pavilion. At the same time, Rajvardhan returned India to the match by dismissing Shahzad in the 37th over. Half of the Pakistan team was in the pavilion on the score of 159 runs.

Irfan Khan (32) and Rizwan Mahmood (29) added 47 runs for the sixth wicket to make the match exciting. Bawa got both out but Ahmed Khan hit three fours and a six to give the team victory.
