Hardik took the catch
Hardik Pandya took an amazing catch on his own ball in this match. In the 9th over, Hardik’s ball was played by Devon Conway towards the front. Hardik bent down and caught it with the left hand. Even the batsman could not believe this catch and Conway stood at the crease for some time. Only 16 runs came off Conway’s bat in his 16-ball innings. Hardik did not celebrate much after this catch.
Just 15 runs in Powerplay
Mohammed Shami shocked New Zealand in the very first over. After this Mohammad Siraj once again took the wicket in the powerplay. Then Mohammed Shami got Darrell out as well. Captain Latham became the victim of Shardul in the 5th over.
New Zealand scored just 15 runs in 10 overs and lost 4 wickets. This is New Zealand’s third lowest score in the first powerplay of ODIs. The team scored 13 runs in the first 10 overs against Sri Lanka in 2013 and 14 against Australia in 2022.
At the same time, on the score of 15, New Zealand also lost its 5th wicket. This is New Zealand’s smallest score after 5 wickets. Earlier in 2001, on the Sri Lanka tour, New Zealand got the 5th blow on the score of 18. Along with this, 5 wickets have fallen on the lowest score against India as well. Last year, England lost 5 wickets against India for 26 runs.
