Al Khor (Hin) England beat Senegal 3-0 in their Round of 16 match at the Al-Bait Stadium on Sunday to enter the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, where they will face defending champions France.
Senegal posed little challenge to England early in the match, but Jordan Henderson and captain Harry Kane scored shortly before half-time to give England a 2–0 lead. In the second half, Bukayo Saka scored the third goal to seal the victory for England.
In the 38th minute of the match, Henderson opened the scoring for England after a beautiful pass from Jude Bellingham. At the end of the first half, Kane put the English side 2–0 ahead with a superb volley that beat goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. It was Kane’s 52nd goal for England. With this, he became the second highest goalscorer for England after Wayne Rooney (53 goals).
England were ahead 2-0 in the match till half time. Senegal manager Rigobert Song made a few substitutions after half-time, but this had a huge impact on the match, and in the 57th minute of the match, Bukayo Saka headed home Phil Foden’s cross to give England a 3–0 lead. Saka’s goal was England’s 12th goal in World Cup 2022. England entered the quarter-finals with this win, where they will face France.
