New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders could not make it to the playoffs of IPL-2023. The two-time champions played their last match of this season on Saturday against Lucknow Super Giants in which they got defeated. The team was not only disappointed with this defeat but after that a controversy also took hold of this team. There were reports that the KKR management did not allow some fans from Lucknow to enter the Eden Gardens stadium because they were wearing Mohun Bagan jerseys. Now clarification has come from KKR on this.
Against Kolkata, the Lucknow team came out wearing a maroon colored jersey, which was similar to Mohan Bagan’s jersey. Lucknow in IPL and ATK-Mohun Bagan club in ISL both have same owner. That’s why Lucknow team wore Mohun Bagan jersey.

Although the management of Kolkata Knight Riders has denied the matter of not giving entry to the fans in the stadium. The management of Kolkata has now issued a statement clarifying this and told that the management of KKR has nothing to do with the entry of the fans coming to the stadium. The statement said that the management of KKR has been informed that someone has done wrong marketing for personal gain, which has been stopped by the IPL Anti-Ambush Marketing Team as per IPL’s policy.

The statement came from Mohun Bagan
Before Kolkata’s statement, there was a statement from Mohun Bagan on this matter. Mohun Bagan’s general secretary Debashish Dutt spoke on this matter and said that this match was very important for the supporters of Mohun Bagan because Lucknow had defeated their Jersey was worn. He accused the management of KKR and said that they did not allow the supporters of Mohun Bagan to come to the stadium because of the jersey.

Kolkata’s playoff hopes rested on the match played against Lucknow. But he had to face defeat in this match. Batting first, Lucknow scored 176 runs losing eight wickets. Kolkata fought fiercely but missed by one run. For Kolkata, Rinku Singh tried to win the team an unbeaten 67 off 33 balls but he could not succeed. Rinku hit six fours and four sixes in his innings.
