David Moody’s over
- dot ball
- no ball (above waist)
- wide
- no ball (above waist)
According to the Laws of Cricket, a bowler can be removed from the attack at the same time if he bowls two balls above waist height during his spell, which the umpires consider dangerous to the batsman. Scorchers opener Cameron Bancroft bowed after being hit hard in the arm and ribs by Moody’s first full toss.
The Renegades bowler apologized to Bancroft at the non-striker’s end for the mishap. The medical staff had reached the ground before the next ball was played. The next ball, Moody bowled a beamer to Stephen Eskinaji, who he scooped for four. Replays then confirmed the no-ball. The umpire removed Moody from the bowling and Jack Prestwij came in to finish the over.
