Ahmedabad: Now the wait has increased for the champion of IPL 2023. The tournament, which has been going on for 59 days, brought the strangest result on its last day itself. The IPL final was to be played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on Sunday, May 28, but incessant rains in Ahmedabad played spoilsport to the climax of the past several days of excitement. Now the champion of the season will be decided on Monday 29 May.

This match was to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium but it started raining from around 6 pm. This rain continued continuously and after waiting for about 5 hours, the umpires decided that it is better to postpone the final. What happened throughout the day on Sunday and what will happen on Monday, understand it in 5 important points.

Final postponed after waiting for 5 hours

1. It started raining an hour before the start of the match. Due to this the toss could not even happen. The umpires tried to get at least 5-5 overs to be played, but the rain continued till 11 o’clock, due to which the umpires decided to postpone the final.
2. According to the rules of IPL, there is a provision of reserve day only for the final match. Therefore, now this match will be played on Monday, May 29, in which the same rules will be implemented, which were fixed for May 28.
3. This is the first time in the history of 16 seasons of IPL, when the champion will be decided on the reserve day. Never before had the IPL final been postponed due to rain.
4. On Monday also the match will start from 7.30 pm. If it rains on Monday evening as well, then like today it will be waited till night. If the match of 5-5 overs could not start even till 12.06 pm, then the decision would be taken from the super over. If this also does not happen, then only Gujarat, which secures the first position in the points table, will become the champion.
5. The most important thing – Monday’s weather. According to the latest forecast, the forecast of rain on Monday evening is very less. There is a forecast of light showers during the day, but the weather is said to be clear for the evening. However, a day before Sunday’s weather was also said to be good.
