India fired more shots towards Singapore’s goal but managed to convert it into goal only once.
Chhetri said after the match, “There are many things that we could have done better. We missed a lot of chances and maybe we could have defended a little better. I am sure the coach will talk to us about this.
“There are some things we need to work on without being too hard on ourselves,” he said.
When asked about India’s last match against Vietnam on Tuesday, Chhetri said, “We have seen their match against Singapore (which Vietnam won 4-0 on Thursday). Their team is very good especially at home. They are one of the most improved teams in Asia in the last five years.
“We really have to strategize in the meeting and correct ourselves against Vietnam,” he said. We have to work hard. It will not be the same (as Singapore).”
When asked about the weather during the match, he said, “We have no excuse about the weather. We came here two days back and I must say the weather here is a bit different but it is quite nice.
