Mumbai . Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has credited the pacers for the team’s impressive victory during the powerplay, following Delhi Capitals’ 44-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday. The Delhi Capitals bowler took four for 35 as the bowler restricted the two-time IPL champions for 171 runs in 19.4 overs while chasing a target of 215 runs.
While Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh bowled well but, he did not get a single wicket. At the same time, Khaleel Ahmed, another bowler, dismissed two KKR top-order batsmen and took three wickets for 25 runs in four overs.
Yadav further said that, our bowling performance has been good so far this season. When we were bowling against Mumbai Indians in our first match, it looked like they could score more than 200 at a time, but we restricted them to 177 in which the team lost five wickets. The fast bowlers are bowling really well. He kept the pressure on the opponent in the powerplay, giving us a chance to bowl freely afterwards.
Kuldeep, who was selected player of the match for taking four wickets, caught Umesh Yadav on his own ball.
Kuldeep said, I knew that only I could take that catch. The ball was far away from the other players. While running I kept my eye on the ball for the catch and finally managed to reach the ball.
Asked about the importance of the win against KKR, the spinner said, “These two points are really important for us. This will boost the morale of the team as we prepare to play for our next match on Saturday and will try our best to win the match.
Delhi Capitals will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 16 at the Wankhede Stadium.
