Sanju Samson suffered this injury due to the Sri Lankan team trying to take a diving catch in the first over at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Although he caught the ball, it slipped out of his hands after falling to the ground. He continued fielding in the match. His knee was hurt in the 13th over as well. His knee got stuck on the ground while stopping Umran Malik at deep point. He experienced swelling of the knee, due to which he was asked to consult a doctor.
difficult to play second match
According to the report of Cricbuzz, Sanju Samson may stay out of the second match of the T20 series. Much will depend on the assessment of the scan by the medical team. The team is yet to take a final call on his playing. Samson also did not reach Pune till Wednesday evening. In the first match, Sanju could not do anything special even with the bat. He had to return to the pavilion after playing an innings of only 5 runs.
India will go to win the series
The Indian team will look to win the series in Pune. India took a 1-0 lead in the series after winning the first match by two runs. Now after winning the second match, Hardik Pandya’s team would like to name the series.
