Senior rowing player Arvind Singh won a gold medal in the lightweight men’s singles sculls event on the final day of the Asian Rowing Championships on Sunday, while three other Indian players managed to win three silver medals. Arvind finished at the top with a timing of 7 minutes 55.942 seconds.
In men’s lightweight double sculls, Arvind, who finished 11th at the Tokyo Olympics along with Arjun Lal Jat, beat players from Uzbekistan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
India also won silver medals in men’s lightweight double sculls, men’s quadruple (team of four players) and men’s coxless four events. India won a total of six medals in the competition with two gold and four silver medals.
In men’s lightweight double sculls, Ashish Phogat and Sukhjinder Singh clocked 7: 12.568 seconds, while in men’s quadruple sculls, the team of Bittu Singh, Jakar Khan, Manjeet Kumar and Sukhmeet Singh clocked 6: 33. Took 661 seconds and missed the gold medal by 0.523 seconds in the photo finish.

Jasvir Singh, Puneet Kumar, Gurmeet Singh and Charanjit Singh finished second in the men’s coxless four final with a timing of 6:51,661 seconds.
