Bengal had scored 419 runs in their first innings with the help of Anustup Majumdar’s 145 runs. With this win, the Manoj Tiwary-led Bengal team has 32 points and is on top of Group A. He has won four matches while two matches were drawn. In this way, Bengal ensured their place in the quarter-finals with one match remaining. Their next match will be against Odisha at Eden Gardens from Tuesday.
In other Group A matches, Uttar Pradesh grabbed three points against Odisha in Meerut after the match ended in a draw on the basis of first innings lead. Uttar Pradesh scored 362 runs in their first innings in reply to Odisha’s 226 runs. Odisha’s team batted well in the second innings and scored 335 for four with the help of Subhranshu Senapati’s 145 and Anurag Sarangi’s 91 runs.
A bad weather-affected match between Himachal Pradesh and Nagaland ended in a draw at Nadaun. Himachal got three points on the basis of first innings lead. Uttarakhand secured three points on the basis of first innings lead against Baroda in another match played at Dehradun. Baroda’s team was dismissed for 86 runs in the first innings, in response to which Uttarakhand scored 199 runs. Baroda scored 336 runs for seven wickets in the second innings.
