Laxman tweeted with two pictures of himself from inside the NCA, ‘First day in office at NCA. exciting challenge. Excited to work with the future of Indian cricket.
Before accepting this position, Laxman was a mentor (guiding) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. As far as Laxman’s coaching experience is concerned, he was also the batting consultant of the Cricket Association of Bengal for six years. He is also a familiar face in the commentary box.
On Laxman’s tweet, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took a jibe and wished him good luck for the future. Ashwin tweeted, ‘New class teacher in town. Good luck Lachhi Bhai.’ Former pacer Irfan Pathan also congratulated Laxman on social media.
Irrfan tweeted, ‘Congratulations VVS Laxman bhai for your new role in Indian cricket. No one can be better than you for this post in NCA. Laxman will no longer appear in the commentary box after taking over as the NCA.
