Shubman now has 2 centuries and 5 half-centuries in his short career of 18 ODIs. Shubman Gill had a slow start in today’s match. He could not even open the account on the first 10 balls, but told with a four on the 11th ball that today is his day. Gill, who started his Test career from Australia tour, has played 13 Tests. He got his T20 International debut only last month, when he got the cap in Mumbai on the same tour of Sri Lanka.

In the first ODI played in Guwahati, Shubman Gill played a blistering inning of 70 runs in 60 balls. Even though only 21 runs came from his bat in the second match played at Eden Gardens, he had made a big record in his name. Shubman became the highest run-scorer for India in the first 17 ODI innings of his career, breaking Virat Kohli’s record.
