After scoring runs consistently in domestic cricket, Prithvi has only got a place in the T20 squad against New Zealand while he was eligible to play in the ODI team as well. Prithvi, who scored a century in his debut Test match, recently played an incredible inning of 379 against Assam in the Ranji Trophy. The form in which he is running, he deserves to be selected in the ODI series as well. Shaw played the last match for India in July 2021 on the tour of Sri Lanka.
2. Arshdeep Singh
Young pacer Arshdeep Singh is not only being included in Team India for some time now but is also performing well. He is also only a part of the T20 squad like Prithvi. Despite being in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, he was not played any match, now against New Zealand, he has been dropped from the squad. Like Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh should be prepared for the ODI World Cup in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
3. Shikhar Dhawan
The veteran batsman also fully deserved to play against the Kiwis. He flopped badly on the Bangladesh tour, after which he was dropped from the team. Young opener Shubman Gill is opening with captain Rohit Sharma. Ishaan Kishan is also a strong contender. In such a situation, the BCCI should clarify whether the team has now started looking beyond Shikhar Dhawan? Wouldn’t this stalwart, who scored 17 centuries and 39 half-centuries in 167 ODIs, want at least such a farewell?
