Naseeruddin Shah attacked Bollywood
In this video, Naseeruddin Shah said, ‘What community has Hindi films left? Which community has been spared, you tell me this. He is a master of stereotyping. Sikhs were made fun of, Parsis were made fun of, Christians were made fun of. A Muslim was always a loyal friend, who died in the last while saving a hero’s life. He would definitely have died.
‘Making fun of the community is a 100-year-old tradition’
72-year-old Naseeruddin Shah further puts his point, ‘Laughing at other’s troubles is a national trait of ours. We don’t know how to laugh at ourselves. And we feel bad if someone makes fun of us, we don’t think twice while making fun of others and our films have encouraged this. Very persistent and done deliberately. It’s been a long time, we have been making films for 100 years, we brag a lot, no one says that we have been making the same films for 100 years. And it is a 100 years old tradition that make fun of this community, make fun of that community and do this, do that and you can do this, you cannot do that.
Ratna Pathak also supported the actor
Meanwhile, Ratna Pathak Shah also says, ‘And to create humour, fat woman, lean man, drunkard man, these were the only options we had for humour.’
