58-year-old Raju Srivastava was undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi. A team of doctors was under his supervision day and night. Raju Srivastava’s postmortem was done in AIIMS itself with new technology. This virtual autopsy took 15 to 20 minutes. After this the body of Raju Srivastava was handed over to the family. After this the body of Raju was taken from AIIMS to Dasharathpuri on 21st September itself. Raju Srivastava’s brother’s house is in Dashrathpuri. Here his body is kept for the last glimpse. There is an influx of people coming and going for the last darshan of Raju Srivastava.

It is being told that the decision to perform the last rites in Delhi was of the family of Raju Srivastava. Raju Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS on 10 August. While working out in the gym, there was a sudden pain in his chest and he fell on the ground. Raju Srivastava was taken to AIIMS in an unconscious state. There doctors told that Raju Srivastava had a cardiac arrest while working out. Since then Raju Srivastava was unconscious and on ventilator. However, in between, there was some movement in his body and there was talk of improvement. But Raju Srivastava could not fully regain consciousness. The prayers and prayers of lakhs of fans proved to be in vain even before the worship took place.

Raju Srivastava’s nephew Kushal Srivastava told our colleague ETimes that everything was fine till the night of 20 September and he was confident that Raju would be fine. But the next morning (21 September) Raju died of a second cardiac arrest.
