In a letter to Special Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti, Rajkumar Santoshi requested for additional security after receiving death threats. Rajkumar Santoshi complained about this to Mumbai’s Joint Police Commissioner Satyanarayana and wrote a letter to the police. In the letter, Rajkumar Santoshi told that he had held a press conference on January 20 with the film’s team. An attempt was made to disrupt this press conference. Santoshi told that this press conference was going on in Andheri area of Mumbai. Then a group came there and started creating ruckus. Because of this, the team of the film had to stop the press conference in the middle.

Rajkumar Santoshi told that later he was threatened to stop the release and promotion of his film, otherwise it would not be good. Rajkumar Santoshi said that he is scared. Along with them, the life of the family is also in danger. That’s why the police should provide them security and take action against the accused.

Rajkumar Santoshi, who made hit films like ‘Ghayal’, ‘Damini’ and ‘Pukar’, further wrote in the letter, ‘I request you to provide me additional security immediately for the safety of me and my other family members. If such people are let loose and no action is taken against them, they can cause great harm.

It may be known that a few days back, during the press conference of ‘Gandhi Godse: Ek Yuddh’, the protesters sitting among the media persons waved black flags and raised slogans of ‘Mahatma Gandhi Zindabad’. He claimed that the film undermines the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and glorifies his killer, Nathuram Godse. To prevent any ruckus, the police were called in to handle the situation.
‘Gandhi Godse: Ek Yudh’ is slated to release on January 26. While Chinmay Mandlekar plays Nathuram Godse in the film, Deepak Antani plays the role of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
