‘The Last Film Show’ out
India’s official entry Chhello Show (The Last Film Show) was shortlisted in the Best Foreign Film category, but bowed out in the final nominations. It is beat by Argentina, 1985. The film also defeated ‘RRR’ at the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture in the Non-English Language category.
These Indian films out of the race
Talking about Oscars, RRR, Last Film Show, The Kashmir Files, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Kantara have been dropped from the Best Picture category. However, RRR’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is nominated in Best Original Song. At the same time, two documentary movies ‘The Elephant Whispers’ and ‘All That Breathes’ have also made it to the list. In all, three films from India are now left in the race to win the Oscars.
