Omicron wreaks havoc on ‘Jersey’ even before release, Shahid’s film will not release on New Year

Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Jersey’ was scheduled to release in theaters on December 31, 2021 on the occasion of New Year, but in view of the increasing outbreak of Corona and Omicron across the country. The filmmakers have decided to postpone the release date of ‘Jersey’. This means that Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ will no longer release on New Year’s.

The team of ‘Jersey’ has issued an official statement saying that “In view of the current situation and new guidelines of Covid 19, we are postponing the theatrical release of the film ‘Jersey’. Thank you for all the love and well wishes. Stay safe. And happy new year. -Team Jersey”

Along with the cases of corona across the country, the cases of Omicron are also increasing. In view of this, recently the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi has ordered the complete closure of cinema halls, gyms and multiplexes in the capital.

Theaters are already open in Maharashtra with 50 per cent capacity.
